This week our database grew to 1,350 IPF studies and 520 clinical trials (real tests of treatments on people). Most new research is coming from Russia, China, and South Korea, which is great โ more scientists worldwide means faster answers. Researchers are also exploring interesting links between IPF and cancer, heart disease, and aging, because many of the same body processes are involved.
Our AI tested hundreds of drug combinations. The best result kept lung capacity (FVC โ basically how much air your lungs can hold) at 69.5%. Healthy lungs sit around 80% or above, so 69.5% is not perfect, but holding steady there instead of dropping further is genuinely meaningful. The winning combo used seven drugs together, including pirfenidone (already approved for IPF) plus newer agents targeting scarring and aging cells.
